Zoey 101
Zoey 101 is a Nickelodeon children's television show that debuted on January 9, 2005. It stars Jamie Lynn Spears as the title character, who is one of the first girls to attend a previously all boy boarding school called Pacific Coast Academy (PCA). Her younger brother, Dustin (Paul Butcher), also attends PCA. Because he is a gifted student, he struggles to fit in with his older more mature classmates.
Zoey (Spears) has two roommates that are complete opposites. Dana (Kristin Herrera) is tough and tomboyish. Nicole (Alexa Nikolas) is boy-crazy and ditzy. Zoey is left to play peace maker between them. One of her best friends is Chase (Sean Flynn-Amir), who secretly has a crush on Zoey but is too shy to act on it. His roommate and good friend is Michael (Christopher Massey). Another character, roommate to Chase and Michael, is Logan (Matthew Underwood), who is over confident, rich, and self-absorbed. Quinn (Erin Sanders) is a science geek and loyal friend to Zoey.
Zoey is considered wise and her friends seek her advice.
Beginning in Season 2, Dana Cruz is "participating in a European exchange program," and is not present in the series. Instead, Lola (Victoria Justice), a slightly eccentric actress, appears as Zoey and Nicole's new roommate. Dana has been confirmed to return in the season premiere of Season 3.
As of November 2005, the show, which debuted in January 2005, is in its second season and among the three most-watched programs in the United States among kids between the age of 9 and 14.[1]
Zoey 101 is filmed at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The exterior shots of PCA are of the Pepperdine campus.
This is Nickelodeon's first TV series broadcast entirely in widescreen. The third season of Zoey 101 is currently in production.
