u probably gave the folder chmode 777. change it to chmode 755 then u can delete it.

Umm, you have to delete all files inside the folder first, then delete the folder. I use LeechFTP and there is this thing called Recursive delete in which it can delete non-empty folders. so if yours doesnt have that, just delete all the files inside that folder first.
