KOCHI: Actors Innocent and Mohanlal have been elected unanimously as President and General Secretary, respectively of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), here for the year 2009-12.

Seventeen artistes including Innocent and Mohanlal have been elected unopposed and the official announcement will be made on June 18 at the 15th annual meeting of AMMA at Kochi, a release from AMMA said.

This was the fourth consecutive term Innocent, Mohan Lal and Edavela Babu, Secretary, are being elected.

At a time when various organisations in the film industry were facing problems like factionalism, electing the same set of office-bearers unopposed is good for the association, many people connected with cinema felt, the release said.

Office-bearers: President-Innocent, Vice Presidents- K B Ganeshkumar and Mukesh; General Secretary-Mohanlal, Secretary- Edavela Babu, Treasurer- Jagadish; Committee Members: Mammootty, Dileep, Nedumudi Venu, Maniyanpillai Raju, Vijayaraghavan, Siddique, Kunchaco Bobban, Jayasurya, Indrajith Sukumaran, Geethu Mohandas and Kukku Parameswaran, the release said.
