Popular playback singer Chinmayi Sripada is cock-a-hoop. Her song Anbil Avan... composed by Oscar winner A R Rahman in Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is on top of the charts and her dubbing for actress Trisha in the movie has drawn plaudits from the star herself besides fans.

This is not the first time Chinmayi is dubbing. She has done it for many actresses. But this was perhaps a first that an actress was complimenting her for the work. She never realized that dubbing for the Gautham Menon directed film, released last week, would get her so much recognition both in Tamil and the Telugu version.

Trisha is the heroine in Vinnai thaandi and Samantha is the heroine in Ye Maaya Chesaave (Telugu version). So many of them (fans) have tried to find out who has dubbed for Samantha and so many write to me. I am touched...'

'This is perhaps the first time that an actress (Trisha) is complimenting me... I did hear previously that Tammanah liked my dubbing for her in Kandaen Kaadhalai.

Trisha was 'awesome' (in the movie), she said. She earlier dubbed for Sameera in Menon's 'Vaaranam Ayiram,' besides other films. The first time she dubbed was in 'Sillunu Oru Kadhal', an opportunity that came through Rahman's studio.

Menon had said he would like to give her to give a test for Trisha and told her the character was Malayali. She could not speak the language but he said she could learn. The test was okayed and that was how she got to dub in VTV, she told reporters.

The film was a magical experience for her, Chinmayi said.
