After being in a multitude of roles of different emotions, Jagathy Sreekumar will now get another big chance to be in a meaty role that will tap his calibre to the maximum. His new movie named 'Rajuvum Ammayum' will have the actor as a mentally challenged person who is taken care of by his mother facing decrepitude.

Based on the real life story of a Raju and his mother , who lived for years in Thenkinkkad Maithanam, Thrissur after they were thrown out of the house by their only daughter at Mumbai, the character of mother will be essayed by veteran actor Sukumari.

The mother and son who never begged till their death but lived with the help of small contributions from the people, had been in the news for quite some time. Madambu Kunjikuttan will pen the scripts for the movie based on their story. Director Devarajan will call the shots for this movie which is produced by the director himself.

The movie will also feature Anoop Menon, Urmila Unni, K P A C Lalitha, and Shivaji Guruvayoor. M Jayachandran will set the tune for the songs written by Rafeeq Ahamed.
