Poornima Jayaram faces camera after 25 years

The gifted actress of films like Manjil Virinja Pookkal, Olangal, Oomakkuyil and Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku, Poornima Jayaram has stopped acting after her marriage to Tamil director K. Bhagyaraj in 1984. Her last film in Malayalam was Onnanu Nammal in 1984.

Now she has come out to face the camera again after almost 26 years. No… Poornima is not acting in films again but doing a television advertisement for the first time. The star couple of K. Bhagyaraj and Poornima have been roped in to be the brand ambassadors for a major south Indian cooking oil brand.

The celebrity couple avoided the camera for advertisements for many years. The situation in the advertisement is of course about Poornima and Bhagyaraj cooking a family favourite dish using that brand of oil.

And you know what the major ingredient of the dish cooked is? The vegetable Bhagyaraj made famous in his film ‘Mundhanai Mudichu’. That is murungakai (drumstick). So after this commercial goes on air, the demand for murungaikai may go up.
