Mohanlal or Dileep: The box-office king?

Finally it is Mohanlal versus Dileep at the Onam box-office, as both Natturajavu and Vettam are releasing on the same day (August 20).
In many ways this clash will decide the future trend of Malayalam commercial cinema as the duo along with Mammootty are the only actors who command an opening in Kerala. Now Mohanlal and Dileep are neck-to-neck, with their respective Onam release which will decide who the ?numero uno? is?

Mohanlal is peeved that Dileep has hijacked his title as the ?comedy king? of Kerala and what more with his one time favourite director Priyadarshan backing him. And Mohanlal is targeting Dileep with another mass entertainer, Natturajavu a genre in which the young star is yet to prove himself.

Shaji Kailas the director of Natturajavu has given Mohanlal some of his biggest hits like Aaram Thampuran and Narasimham which established him as a mass hero with larger-than-life image. Now Natturajavu also promises to have great action, punchy dialogues and when Lal plays an ?achayan? (Syrian Christian) character it is always a treat to watch.

Meanwhile Dileep who saw the first copy of Vettam has told his close friends ?I smell a hit. This film is going to be a laugh riot?. According to the trade, the film is sure to bring the lady audience who are capable of making it a blockbuster.

i dont think dilip has grown big enuf ( not in size..lol ) to hijack mohanlal's throne.. i feel mohanlal is still the greatest crowd puller without any rays of doubt.. when it comes to initial collection any crap mohanlal movie will get a decent one whereas a dileep movie from a new director wont get the same..

well of course i am a lal admirer but i think its fact which statistics wud back up..
