KOCHI: IPL Kochi franchisee members who visited the International Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday, has directed the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) to improve the facilities in the stadium. Speaking to the reporters in Kochi, the officials said that they expect that the KCA would make necessary arrangements to improve the facilities.

The team also inspected the drainage facility in the stadium. The 2.5 lakh sq feet of ground has been provided with a drainage system using 2,550 metres of PVC pipes, which has been laid on a bedding of road gravel put inside a trench 70 cm deep.

Besides IPL CEO, four members of IPL Kochi franchisee, three members from International Management Group (IMG) and Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) officials also visited the stadium. KCA held discussions with IPL CEO and Kochi franchisee members on the conduct of the matches.

After several months of uncertainties, recently BCCI gave final clearance for the Kochi franchisee to participate in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins from next April.
