ROME: Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has announced the birth of his third child on his Facebook page and then posted an announcement on his official webpage. "He's born," the message said.

"Starting from today there are five of us," the 36-year-old striker said, following Tuesday's birth of daughter Sasha.

"We imagined that the sensations, extraordinary as they are, can be less shattering than they happened to be the first time. But no, every time is like the first one, new, sudden and unexpected," he said.

The baby and mother, Sonia Amoruso, are both fine, the announcement said.

Del Piero has played for the Turin, Italy team since 1993.
