Agreement on engg admission on Thursday
The Kerala Government and the Kerala Self-Financing Engineering College Management Association representing over 80 SF engineering colleges in state today decided to sign the agreement for sharing the seats in these colleges 50:50 in government and management quotas on Thursday. They had already reached an agreement in this regard and the clauses of the agreement remain the same as reported by few days ago. An agreement could not be reached in the talks between the Catholic Engineering Colleges and the Government today.
The talks between the Government and the Christian Medical Management Federation too did not find at any solution. Though the Kerala Private Medical College Management Association (KPMCMA) had reached an agreement with the Government for sharing the seats in their 11 colleges, they did not sign any agreement even today. The KPMCMA representatives said they were postponing this in the light of the pending court cases challenging their admission.
Health Minister Adoor Prakash said a decision on signing the agreement will be taken after the cases are heard in the High Court. At present, the cases are to be heared by thr HC on 21st. It is the same day that the CEE makes first allotment to five Govt MEdical colleges.
