Concerned Deepika calling up Yuvraj for health updates

During troubled times, even estranged people come back to express their concern. Ditto is the case with ex-lovers Deepika Padukone and Yuvraj Singh.



The Bollywood hottie who had been keeping a safe distance from her cricketer ex-boyfriend for the past few years, has reportedly, decided to reawaken her friendship with him. The actress recently got in touch with Yuvraj, who has been diagnosed with a non-malignant tumour in his lung, to enquire about his health.


A friend of Yuvraj told a leading daily, “Deepika and Yuvraj hadn’t parted amicably. They even avoided each other on more than one occasion. However, recently Deepika picked up the phone and called him. Yuvraj was pleasantly surprised. The conversation did not last too long. After a few days she again told him “Get well soon”.


The reason for the Deepika-Yuvraj split was believed to be Yuvraj’s overpossessive attitude. If this wasn’t enough, after the success of Om Shanti Om, Deepika got too busy with her career and could not give Yuvraj too much time. This annoyed Yuvi no end and he felt that he wasn’t getting enough attention from her, added the friend.


Deepika parted ways with Yuvraj in 2008. Soon, she started dating Ranbir Kapoor. Currently, the actress is reportedly been rather close to Siddhartha Mallya.


Defending her, a friend of the actress said, “Deepika and Siddhartha are in a very happy space. Deepika’s call to Yuvraj is a friendly gesture. Deepika doesn’t brood over the past and lives in the present. People move on and evolve.”



All said and done, FOI would like to add that we are glad DP left behind her troubled past with her ex and did her part to show her support to the ailing cricketer!
