Yester year senior comedian K A Thangavelu also referred as Danaal Thangavelu gave up the ghost within the year 1994. His wife is M Saroja aged 79 years. She is the sister of M Lakshmi Prabha who had acted as mother and sister of MGR.


For the previous couple of months she was ailing. Yesterday afternoon she passed on to the great beyond as a result of heart attack at 4.30 p m at her residence situated at Masilamani Street in T Nagar.


She has a daughter called Sumathi. She took up performing at the age of 14. Director K Subramaniam introduced her in cinema. She donned the role of MGR’s cousin within the film Sarvadhikari. Afterward she continued to behave in additional than 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. The most significant film in her career was the film Kalayana Parisu during which she paired along with her husband K A Thangavelu. At the 100th day celebrations of this film, either one of them got married in Madurai Murugan Temple.The Tamil Nadu Government felicitated her with Kalaimamani Award in appreciation. Members of the film fraternity have paid their homage. The funeral rituals came about a couple of hours ago.
