VM Vinu had dropped the film that he was planning to launch with Mohanlal.

After the resounding success of 'Balettan', VM Vinu had announced that he would start a film with Mohanlal in the lead. This was going to be another film along the lines of 'Balettan'. The film was going to be one of the three films that Mohanlal was going to work in for Aroma Mani.

But, he has suddenly announced that he was going to direct Mammooty in his next film 'Vesham'. The film is going to begin on the 10th of September.

This is the second time that VM Vinu is going to work with Mammooty after the film 'Pallavoor Devanarayanan'. That was also the film for which Mammooty did some playback singing for the first time.
