campanel is a good program i ended up finding.... i also found out that if you plan on setting up home survelance w/ usb webcams you may need longer usb cables and in order to use cables longer then 8-10 feet you must have a usb hub that has its own power supply. apparently most motherboards dont have enough power/voltage to use really long usb cables so you need the extra boost of power that youd get from a hub.

there is one more option
nowadays there are Bluetooth usb stick
if ur cam has bluetooth then jus plugin this stick in USB port
and ur webcam will work
In India they cost around 600 rupees that will 13-15 USD
no need of cables now
