Glam girl Tamannaah was in Chennai recently to promote her Tamil-Telugu bilingual Yaen Endral Kadhal Enbaen in Tamil (Endukante Premanta in Telugu). Basking in the success of her recent T’town release Raccha, Tammu looked excited to be in the city. She surprised everyone with her fluent Tamil speech.
“I always feel happy to come to Chennai. As soon as I landed at the city’s airport, there was a cordial feeling of welcome in the air and it was very heartwarming,” confesses the star who has been missing in action.
On her choosing to converse in Tamil, she says, “I should thank my director Karunakaran who hails from this state. While doing the Tamil version, he insisted on communicating in Tamil and explained the lines only in that language.
Earlier, while doing Paiyaa, I picked up the language from Linguasamy. And my co-star Ram is also from Chennai and well-versed in the language.” Heaping praises on Ram, she continues, “I know him from the Ready days, where I did a cameo appearance.
He is a friendly person and a terrific costar to work with.” Replying to a query about returning to Tamil, she is very generic in her response. “It has been a hectic time in Telugu for the last few years. I want to go easy with Tamil projects. I am listening to a few scripts and hope to sign one of them,” the Sirutthai star reveals.
