The 'Thaandavam' story issue keeps taking different turns every day.

While there were reports that director Vijay had offered to produce assistant director Ponnusamy’s script, which was said to have been stolen to make 'Thaandavam', the former denied them saying he was shocked to hear such a news.

“We discussed only about director Ameer’s resignation from the secretary’s post, at the Directors’ Union meeting and director Bharathiraja only wanted to know about the 'Thaandavam' issue as this had some connection to Ameer’s decision,” said Vijay.

Vijay said he has always supported Ponnusamy and made him understand that the story of 'Thaandavam' was different from his.

“I can’t blame Ponnusamy as his apprehension about whether his story has been stolen was correct. But it was all coincidence that he met director Dhananjayan to narrate his story, when we had already discussed about 'Thaandavam' just a while ago,” he said.

While Vijay said he registered the story with the Writers’ Association only when he was shooting 'Thaandavam', he argued that Ponnusamy could make his story into a full-length film as only a part of the film – about a visually-challenged person taking revenge – was similar. “While I showed my film to Ponnusamy to sort out the issue, I also got to read Ponnusamy’s script. It’s a good story and he can go ahead with directing it,” he said. Director Vijay said he had already started focusing on his flick with actor Vijay.

“G V Prakash will score the music and Nirav Shah will be the cinematographer. The title and the female lead are yet to be decided. The movie will probably go on floors this November and has a healthy dose of entertaininment,” he said.
