Ingredients


For Boiling
Crab cleaned and cut into pieces- 1 kg
Chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger crushed- 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic crushed- 1/2 teaspoon
Gambooge/ Kudampuli- 2-3 (Adjust according to your taste)
Salt to taste
Curry leaves

For Stir frying

Oil- 2 tablespoons
Shallots- 7-8
Garlic – 4 cloves
Peppercorns- 4-5
Fennel seeds- 1 teaspoon
Chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Chopped onion- 1

Method


Put the cleaned crab along with the ingredients for boiling in an earthen pot with 1/4 cup water. Cover and cook on low heat till the crab is well cooked and the water dries off. Crush the shallots along with garlic, fennel seeds and peppercorns and keep aside. In a pan, heat oil and saute the onions till they turn golden brown. Add the crushed mixture and saute till the raw smell goes. Add the chilli, coriander and turmeric powders and stir for a minute. Add the crab and stir well. Let cook for a couple of minutes, stirring in between. Switch off the heat. Transfer to a serving dish.
