Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a Sexually transmitted disease having no vaccine at all. Potential ways of disease infection are infected blood, saliva, urine, sperm and vaginal fluids. The virus become active after a period of 6 months (incubation period) and can be detected by tests - Western blot test, Elisa test.

Once test is positive, avoid the virus exposure in the future. Every exposure increses the number of virus and the patient's condition will go worse with in a short period. Normally, if detected early, with medicines one can delay the coming of severe diseases viz TB, some type of cancer , skin diseases etc. AIDS is fastly spreading all over the world. It can only by controlled by awareness of the public regarding the disese. If lived properly, a diseased can live a healthy life of 8 to 12 years.

Dont be afraid of AIDS patients. It doesnt spread by touching them, eating with them. That spreads nothing but love and shows care about that person

The dreaded disease is spreading very fast in varoius countreis all over the world. By WHO reports India has the largest population of AIDS affected people - 57 million. The worst condition exists (India) in the case of treatment available to patients - Only 7% of the diseased get treatment.

Basically, there is no treatment for AIDS. Lot of firms claims a cure for the epidemic, but not proved yet. If one is infected/have a chance to get ifected, go for a voluntary check up. If affected don't be panic, consult a doctor and statrt medication. With ityou can live healthy for 10 to 12 years.

Prevention is better than cure.

Tuberculosis

People living with HIV (AIDS) are more prone to Tuberculosis.

Symptom of TB are - Cough for 3 weeks or more, Low grade fever with evening rise of temperature, unexplained weight loss, unexplained generalised weakness, Enlarged lymph nodea/glands.

TB is completely curable with DOTS.

Be aware

Get tested for HIV and TB.

Both tests are free in all government hospitals and health facilities in India.
