Actor Rambha has a lot to be happy about at the moment. 'Vidiyum Varai Kathiru', her comeback film after a two year hiatus is nearing completion and will be ready for release soon. And though TV show 'Maanadu Mayiladu' is winding up its second season, there‘s lots more on the cards. Expresso catches up with her.



“I am quite excited about my film, which is a classy thriller. There‘s no mindless violence in it. We shot in Sri Lanka and will be shooting in Ramoji Film city also. Two songs remain to be completed,” she says, about her film with Prakash Raj. She admits to be being a bit nervous. “People are going to see me after a long gap so I am a bit jittery about their reactions. I have been working hard for this film,” she says. “But I have left it to God,” she adds.

About her future projects, she says, “I have been getting many offers but I am taking my time.” The lady is sure about one thing. “I wont do second lead roles. After working with the best in the industry in both Hindi and Tamil, I would rather wait for a good role than just sign up anything,” she says, firmly. And that means a big ‚No‘ to item numbers as well. Competition maybe hotting up but Rambha is firm in her stand. “I refused films like Raman Thediya Seethai and others which had five heroines,” she says.

Her stint as judge for the TV show 'Maanadu Mayiladu' is ending but she is upbeat about another show that is named after her. 'Nacho Re Nacho Re' Rambha on Maa TV is starting up soon. “This is a rare show which has been entirely named after a heroine,” she smiles. Twenty shows which will take the group across to foreign locales as well are on the cards.

There is another passion that is taking up her time at present. “I am going to set up an English medium school upto the 5th std in the city soon. I couldn’t study beyond 10th std so I am keen on education for others,” reveals Rambha. Films, TV and now education, looks like comeback kid Rambha is going to be one very busy girl in the months to come.
