Asin ready to act in more Malayalam films
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Popular south Indian actress Asin, who starred in the Hindi hit 'Ghajini', yesterday said she would choose a Malayalam film if the script and character was suited.
Talking to reporters here, Asin, who made her debut in a Malayalam film, `Narendran makan Jayakanthan Vaka' (Narendran's property in the name of his son Jayakathan), said she had always been selective. "Luck alone does not decide the success of a film. But there is an existence of luck," she said.
Most of the films are hero-oriented and only once in a bluemoon woman characters come into picture," she said.
"I am the worst critic of mine," she said, adding that she had a lot more to learn from the industry. "What I mean is that I am not satisfied with myself," she said.
Amir Khan was interested in taking me into his movie after watching Tamil version of `Ghajini,' she said. Several actors were offered the role but chose me in the end, she said.
In south Indian film industry there were no restrictions and if one knew the language you were comfortable. The word `aama' was the only thing I learnt before entering Tamil film industry and learnt the language gradually, she said.
The film `19 steps' by Bharat Bala would be her next step which is being produced in Tamil, Japanese and English. `London Dreams is the next Hindi project.
