Default 10 Ways to Decorate the Home Office

    1. First of all start by deciding on one corner of your living room as the designated workspace area. Avoid bedrooms and drawing rooms. If you are crunched for space, try a corner in the dining area.

    2. Invest in a good set of computer table and a comfortable chair. Now put it such that your back is against the wall.

    3. Select a corner that has ample light. Put your desk, cabinets and counters to create an L-shape. It’s a space saver as well as looks very professional and creates an island.

    4. Set up shelves and a good file cabinet behind your chair, within easy reach. First take stalk of number of equipment you will have in your space – printer, fax, scanner, PC etc – then set up counters to hold all.

    5. Try to buy the pieces in the same colour- pick preferably wooden of MDF based furniture for more aesthetic look.

    6. Put up some interesting lighting fixtures – paper globe shades, glass shades etc. Also pick up some knick-knacks like an interesting pen stand, a clock or even a coffee mug to give it a true office feel that is personal still.

    7. Since this is also your home try to blend in the décor by using cushions and curtains that match with the décor in the rest of dining or living room area.

    8. Keep the wires hidden – call an electrician to put the wires through hidden panels.

    9. Since your space needs to be clutter-free, buy some good storage for all your files and documents.

    10. Buy a paper shredder as well to do away with unwanted paper.
