Sri Lanka qualify for Super Eight, Australia are out
NOTTINGHAM: Sri Lanka marched to the Super Eight stage with a convincing six-wicket win over Australia in a crucial Group C match in the World Twenty20 championship at the Trent Bridge here on Monday. Australia are now out of the tournament.
Brief scores: Australia 159/9 in 20 overs (David Hussey 28, Mitchell Johnson 28 not out; Ajantha Mendis 3-20, Lasith Malinga 3-36). Sri Lanka 160/4 in 19 overs (Kumar Sangakkara 55 not out, Tillakaratne Dilshan 53; Brett Lee 2/39).
