Decorating Ideas for Aquariums
You can add some aquarium stones, some natural driftwood.... that look like logs, aquarium gravel that forms the base or the substrate... and plants..
Artificial plants are more easy maintenace than natural ones which fishes might keep tearing from time to time...
Aquarium gravel is available in nearly every color of the rainbow as well as several grain sizes. What ever substrate you choose... be sure that its large enough that it doesn't fill the slots in the UGF (under gravel filter) if you have one...
Set up your aquarium where you spend most of your time. By doing so, you can fully enjoy the results of your endeavor. Choose a room where you will be able to view and take pleasure in your aquatic system. But more importantly, place the aquarium where it is easily accessible for regular and convenient maintenance.
Do not block equipment or areas you need to access frequently such as the back of the aquarium for filtration and the top of the aquarium for water changes and lighting. If you are planning to place aquarium equipment in a cabinet or stand, make sure that it has adequate ventilation. This helps control mold and other cultures that thrive in humid areas and also keeps heat buildup to a minimum.
