Anglo-Indian actor Sir Ben Kingsley will be seen renewing the Taj Mahal in the epic historic movie ‘Taj’. And pairing this Oscar-winner will be one of the world’s most beautiful women, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Sir Ben will be essaying the role of Emperor Shah Jahan and Aishwarya Rai will play the role of Mumtaz Mahal.

British playwright, novelist and actor David Ashton will be scripting the story while Kingsley's production company SBK Pictures will be producing it with a whooping budget of about $25 to $30 million.

"With my passion for India, and the Taj Mahal one of the Seven Wonders of the World, I am compelled to ask 'why' and 'how' this scream of grief frozen in marble came into being," said Sir Ben when asked about the reason of this initiative.

Any ways it’s not new for both the lead actors to essay an historic character. It’s notable that Ben Kingsley played Mahatma Gandhi in Richard Attenborough’s ‘Gandhi’, for which he bagged an Academy Award for the best actor. And Aishwarya had donned the role of the Rajput princes Jodha for the film ‘Jodha Akbar’ and won rave reviews. Looks like the film will start rolling from July next year. We are waiting to see the love that is alive but buried inside the Taj Mahal.
