    Kailas Manasarovar Yatra



    Season : Mid May to Mid June

    Option 1 : 10 day Helicopter trip costing Rs 1.5 lakh.

    Day 1 - Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalganj.
    Day 2 - Fly to Simikot (2950 m) by Scheduled flight.
    Day 3 - Fly by Helicopter to Hilsa and reach Taklakot (3700 m) by Jeep.O/N stay in a hotel.
    Day 4 - Rest for one day for acclimatization.
    Day 5 - Drive to Manasarovar lake (4560m) for puja, holy bath and visit the hot spring nearby. Manasarovar parikrama can be done by jeep. Stay in the near by Guest house.
    Day 6 - To Sershong by jeep and trek to Dirapuk (4860m). Stay in hotel. Day 7 - Trek to Zuthul Puk (4760m).
    Day 8 - Completing the Kailas Praikrama trek over Dolma la (5800 m) and drive to Taklakot (3750m) for night stay.
    Day 9 - Drive to Sher and reach Hilsa. By Helicopter to Simikot and then flight to Kathmandu.
    Day 10 - A rest day for shopping.

    Option 2 : 12 day trip from Kathmandu at Rs 60,000 (2400 km)

    Day 1 - Drive from Kathmandu to Nyalam (3900 m) after crossing the Nepal - China border (145 km). Chinese Customs & Imigration formalities has to be completed in between at Zhagmu. Stay in hotel.

    Day 2 - Rest day for acclimatization.

    Day 3 - Drive to Saga (4540m, 230 km/8 hour) via Lalung-La pass crossing Brahmaputhra rive. Lalung la is a 5052 m Pass in China's G318 Friendship Highway.

    Day 4 - Drive to Pariyang (4540 m/260 km/8 hour)

    Day 5 - Drive to Manasa sarovar lake (4530 m/265 km/9 hour). Visiting Rakshas Thal. Stay at Manasarovar.

    Day 6 - Puja, holy bath and visit the hot spring nearby. Manasarovar parikrama can be done by jeep. Stay in the near by Guest house.

    Day 7 - Drive to Darchen and night stay there.

    Day 8 - Drive to Yamadwrar and start the arduous Kailas Parikrama and to reach Dirapuk (18 km, 8 hour) by foot/horse.

    Day 9 - It is the most difficult day of the trek. Trek to Dolma la (5800 m), visit the near by Gourikund and reach the lower camp for stay.

    Day 10 - Trek 12 km to reach Borkha to end the Parikrama. Drive to Pariyang and night stay in hotel.

    Day 11 - Drive to Nyalam. Overnight stay.

    Day 12 - Drive to Kathmandu.

    Season : Mid May to Mid June

    List of Items to be carried

    Five pairs woolen or cotton trousers & full sleeve shitrts/sari/churidar, 3 sweaters, three pairs thermal wear, four pairs woolen gloves, down jacket, eight pairs woolen socks, comfortable, waterproof treking shoes, mug, pen, sun hat, sunglass (100% uv protective), sun cream (at least spf 25), thermo flask-2 litre, torch, dress for donating tibetans, toilet paper, rain coat etc.

    Option 3 : Government of India organises this trek, Limited seats (1000), selection by lucky draw.

    Pithorgarh (642 km from Delhi in Uttarakhand) to Tawaghat by bus (120 km, 914 m).

    Trek to Pangu (9 km, 2238 m), Sirka (9 km), Gipti (16 km), Buddhi (17 km, 2740 m), Kathi - Gunji (17 km, 3200 m), Kalapani (8 km, 3600 m), Samchan (9 km), Navidhang (4200 m), Lipu le (5122 m, 5 hour) : 100 km, 7 days.

    Cross the border and reach Taklakot (4600 m, Tibet) and to Manasarovar lake (4530 m) by Jeep. Mount Kailash (6740 m) parikrama via Dolma la (5700 m) by trek/over Yak : 3 days. This trek is severe, expensive and difficult.

    Season : April to October.
