T’PURAM: Top actors getting crores as remuneration should give top priority to films, said actor Suresh Gopi.

Talking to reporters on the recent statement of the Kerala Film Chamber asking all film artistes, singers and technicians not to appear on television for doing shows from May 1, the actor said film actors should devote their time to films. He asked the actors to spend less time on TV shows.

Meantime, the decision banning singers from doing TV shows is not correct, he said. From the talks of the actor, it is understood that he agrees to the decision of the Kerala Film Chamber.

Actor Kamal Haasan had termed the decision as anti-democratic.

Contrary to Suresh Gopi’s statement Malayalam actor, script-writer and director, Sreenivasan on Monday criticized the decision of Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce to impose ban on all film artistes, singers and technicians to appear on TV shows from May 1.

Sreenivasan said it is not wrong to participate in television programmes. There are worthless persons at the head of the Chamber. They are behind the present controversy.
