After her successful debut film Gaalipata (Kannada), Bhavana Rao was hardly seen but she returned to the silver screen recently with her maiden Tamil flick Kola Kolaya Mundhirika. The actress was reportedly biding her time, waiting for a worthwhile film to come her way; it seems she has now found such a film and some exciting developments in her career.

Bhavana has now signed her second Kannada film, Vaare Wah by Vijayalakshmi Singh, starring Komal. “Yes, I did have a couple of other offers in the interim, but they never took off despite more than 50% of the portions being shot. But I prefer to not dwell on the past and would rather focus on what I’m doing now,” she said to a leading English daily.

“It feels a lot more comfortable to be directed by women. Vijayalakshmi ma’am has three daughters and having been an artiste herself, she knows what we go through. I was wary of the ways of the industry. But now, I don’t look like I can be taken for a ride,” she added.
