After the hue and cry raised by the media and many from the Nadigar Sangam over the visit to Lanka by actress Asin, the actress has quietly started shooting in Chennai.

Asin not only defended her position but she also launched an attack on those who criticized her by saying that she was merely a pawn in the hands of her producer and added that she wasn’t in a position to decide as to where to hold the shooting schedule. Speaking among Tamil children, she had said that she would try to bring Tamil heroes to the Island nation to ‘entertain’ them.

The Nadigar Sangam had earlier said that none of the artistes should go to Lanka and had boycotted the IIFA Awards ceremony held in Lanka in the first week of June in order to register its protest to the suppression of Tamils’ rights and the mass killings indulged in by Sri Lanka in the name of eliminating LTTE last year.

While Radharavi, the Secretary of the Sangam, opposed Asin’s visit, Asin got support from unexpected quarters in the form of Sarath Kumar, the president of the Sangam who said that nobody can restrain the artistes from going abroad to fulfill their professional and personal commitments.

Asin, who said that she feared something ‘bad’ would occur during her visit to Chennai, has started in Chennai again for her upcoming film opposite Vijay in “Kaaval Kaadhal”. The shooting was held on ECR Road on the outskirts of Chennai. Asin, who was present at the shooting spot along with her private security team, took part in the shooting along with Vijay.

In fact, some policemen were also spotted at the venue to ensure that nothing ‘untoward’ happens to the actress
