Are the environment variables holes in computers?

I found to my shock that, each and every VIRUS is using environment variables to make a room in our PC (first) then to affect the PC like 8.5 earthquacke in JAPAN recently. I have created some batch files to cut their roots, mirrors and other essense in any of theses environment variables (system folders). Example: %userprofile%, %allusersprofile% etc.
