CHENNAI: Film star Rajinikanth has thanked his fans for the love they showed him through his hospital stay, in a handwritten letter. He apologized for not writing to them earlier, and promised he would be back to entertain them in his upcoming film, 'Rana'.

“I had to thank the CM for offering all help from the government of Tamil Nadu. And I had to thank Kalaignar who has always shown me affection,” said Rajini.

The actor told his fans that they alone were responsible for his recovery.

“On one hand, I was surrounded by money, science, medicine and the best doctors. On the other hand I had all your prayers, poojas for my well-being. I have no doubt that it was the prayers that helped me get better,” he said.
