Default Acting in Sholay remake was a mistake: Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan conceded that acting in the remake of his legendary 1975 film " Sholay" was a mistake.

The remake "Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag" (2007), directed by Ram Gopal Varma, had Bachchan in the role of the villain. But the film bombed at the box office, and was panned by critics.

The actor was here for the promotion of his new film "Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap".

Interacting with the media, he said, "Sholay's remake was a mistake. I should not have acted in the remake of my own film."

To him, a remake will never be the same as an original.

"An original film will remain an original in my mind." The actor, who considers every role to be equally challenging, stated that he cannot compete with the new generation of actors in the industry.

When asked about his goal in life, Bachchan said that he wanted to be a good artist who gets appreciation from his fans and is able to keep his family happy.
