    Default Shopping cart framework

    There are many general purpose CMF, and lower level frameworks, such as Zend, CodeIgnitor, etc.

    Where are all the specialized frameworks? It would be nice to have a shopping cart framework which provided bare-bones functionality and customized workflow, ordering sequences, shipping, receiving, etc was provided via plugin/extensions.

    Have you ever considered building something like this? What are some points of contention you have experienced in using existing SC solutions??? Obviously some examples of extension points are shipping modules. Payment gateways...etc...
