Is it alright to link pictures on a third party site such as imagechack to my website here?

It is better if you use http://imagehost.bizhat.com to upload your pictures

Some webhosts do not allow displaying pictures on other sites.
If imageshack supports hot links to pictures you could very well do that

As it is from bizhat itself you will have more advantage coz of its features and ability to display gallery, thumbnails with a single click

thanks guys. i have been using bizhat image. good stuff. and nothing wrong with keeping everything all "in house".
