No bad news if you have a good knowledge.
I have just updated my PC today with microsoft update.
I downloaded the legit check file, re-started and it said that i had pirated version, open the hexeditor and changed some of the strings and it no-longer said that mine is pirated.( I un-plugged my internet cable before re-starting) :D :D
After that everything went fine on microsoft update :)

Microsoft is doing this for more then ayear and will continue to do it, but it does'nt effect who have the knowledge, i am using Internet Exlorer 7 Beta 2, Windows Defender Beta 2, which uses built-in legitlib dll in the installer for genuine check, i am not using genuine copy, so no big deal with that :) :) :)

I've OEM version of XP but I'm using pirated one for all the cheks
they make
Last time I made a patch to IE7 beta 1 and think that it'll work for any type of windows update
so far with that I've updated many patches till DEC2005
No time for the next ones to install

and I've already shared it
so its your time to do it rather than jus mumbling

Bcoz my windows is stable without the updates. The only thing I update is bcoz some of programs need them
and also many of my friends have pirated versions and so it'll
be helpful to them

Just copy paste the file in the Windows/System32 directory and overwrite the file if already exists.

If you want to do the microsoft update then first goto microsoft update site and download the genuine check hotfix. After installing it will ask you to restart your computer.
Before Restarting, unplug your internet cable/disable & restart the computer, a message will appear that you are using pirated version, then paste this file in the system32 directory and overwrite the existing file. Message will disappear and you are now eligible to do microsoft update :)
