Tips For Working Mothers
There are a lot of things that working mothers need to take care about. They can primarily be divided into two areas- things at home and things at school.
At school, you can take care of the following things;
* Take your child for a school visit one day prior to opening and make him familiar with the whereabouts of the building and environment.
* Find an old student with whom your child can make friends with and who can show him around the school. As it is, finding a familiar face on the first day makes the child feel more comfortable
* Let your child's teacher know his likes, dislikes and eating and other habits. Also, if he has any chronic illness or allergies.
At home, keeping a nanny is the most suitable option that most mothers choose. However, The very basic problem in keeping a nanny is the problem of your child getting more dependent and close to the nanny than to yourself. Many times, since he spends most of his time with his nanny the child starts listening to her more than he does to you. Also, he might start needing her more than he needs you.
It is only natural to feel insecure in such a situation. However you can find a practical solution to such a situation by setting clear guidelines of how should the nanny function, including her work hours and the limits of her responsibilities.
You might also want to keep a check of the following things while keeping a nanny.
* Arrange for a written contact with the nanny who has a provision of mentioning exactly what is expected out of her and what is not. You can set clear guidelines for handling your child and make them exactly the way you want your child to be reared.
* You can also decide your kid's computer, television and play time.
* Make your child more independent by making him learn basic things like cleaning up their rooms getting ready on themselves and not needing anybody while going to the bathroom etc.
Handling both work and children together can be really difficult and stressful thing but you can make it a little easier if you take care of such things at the right time and make everything function smoothly on its own!
