Kerala- The must see destination of the century
Kerala is the southern most state of India, sharing its border with north by Karnataka and south east by Tamil Nadu and the Arabian Sea in the west. The Western Ghats ranging from 500 meters-2700 meters situated in the east. The major spoken language is Malayalam but English is also widely spoken in the business circle. Major cities are, Thiruvananthapuram the capital, Cochin & Calicut, by order they are located in south, central & northern part of the state. Kerala is one of the most literate, healthiest, and gender-equitable regions in India, it is also boast one of the most advanced educational system in India. Kerala is rich in wildlife with 11 wildlife sanctuaries, 1 bird sanctuary & 2 national parks. Kerala's matchless geographic & cultural features like, equable climate, tranquil beaches, wonderful stretches of backwaters, greenish hill stations and amazing wildlife, Waterfalls, Spice plantations and paddy fields, Ayurvedic holidays, art forms like Katahkali & Kalalripayattu, miraculous festivals, historic and cultural monuments. An exotic cuisine makes it as one of the most promising tourist destination in the sub continent.
Kerala is divided into fourteen districts for administrative purpose. Most of these districts offer different kinds of tourism products typical of the State. All of these fascinating destinations are only a two hour drive from the other. Before Indian independence there were three major states in the region named as Malabar, directly ruled by British, while Kochi & Travnacore was ruled by local kings of the then states. After Indian independence these three states joined together to form Kerlala. Now fourteen districts are distributed among Kerala's three historical regions: Malabar it also known as northern Kerala , Kochi central Kerala, and Travancore southern Kerala. Kerala's modern-day districts listed in order from north to south correspond to them as follows:

Kerala's culture is largely influenced by both Tamilakam & Karnatic culture. Kerala's culture developed through centuries of relationship with neighboring & overseas cultures. Native performing arts like Koodiyattam, Kathakali, Mohinyattom, Thullal, Padayni & Theyyam. Koodiyattam is a 2000 year old Sanskrit theater tradition; UNESCO recognized it as a Master piece of the Oral & Intangible heritage of Humanity. Kerala also boast its heritage in paintings through its murals & contributed one of the world famous painters Raja Ravi Varma to the painting word. Kerala has its own Malayalam Calendar; Kerala's cuisine is typically served as a sadhya on green banana leaves. Such dishes as, pulisherry, puttucuddla, puzhukku, idly, payasam, rasam, and sambar are typical. Traditional dress for men is 'Mundu' a loose piece of cloth wrapped around men's waists & 'sari' is the traditional ware of Kerala just like any Indian women.

Yes After seeing your mail I planed to visit Kerela on April ! I think there are lot of places to see! I hope after coming for the vacation to Kerela i'll enjoy a lot .....
