Hi, i´ve been surfing the net for a couple of years and i decide to start something..
I built this web site about webdesign (in spanish) http://diagonal.bizhat.com

I discovered web promotion isn´t a joke and i submit the url to a few search engines.

i need sugestions on how to get the site more visited, or if you have any advice it will be well received.

Try Trafic exchange, do a search on google, there are a few sites that do it. basically you set up an account similar to a banner exchange.

The difference is a pop under window, so when someone exits your site someone else's pop under appears on your site. Many people have said it provided good results.
