custom 404 error without .htaccess

I can't seem to upload it. I don't know what your problem is, or what you're making on your site. But it's part of a gallery I dled from the internet and I can't upload it. :(

Could it have anything to do with the php being disabled on most websites? I don't know much about webdesigning, only html and now I'm trying to work with php. But... ???

Just my two cents and to let the admins know I'm having the same problem. I can't upload it. *sob*

It's been stated in other posts that .htaccess files are not allowed, but I'm just wondering if there's another way to have custom error pages

Ya make all pages run by a php script and this way you can have it do make a page that send you a email and helps out the viewer

Aaaaaah, ok.... so it's not allowed! Do'h! Now I do have a big problem because I've got no idea how to write sth like that in php. Can anyone do this for me, someone who has the same problem?

If I leave it out, do ya think they will notice it. :? Maybe I'll look for sth that doesn't contain those files. It's sth I downloaded from the net, 4images to create a gallery.

So any other suggestions are welcome, thx for your answers!!

can someone give me a little starter info on running php scripts?

I don't know much about php, but if you search for scripts online. Most of them have a guide on how to install and which things to alter. You do need basic knowledge of html, or codes so you know what things stand for.

That is what I do, most often there is an "install.php" too, which does it all for you. Other than that, I can't help you. Maybe one of the admins can. Or you can search for a php site, they have tutorials.

You can activate php on any site here but You need more than 5 posts on forums. Then you need to ask admin to enable php for your site.
