Default Best places to see in India:)

My favorite places in India are: Dharamsala (Dalai Lama's place/situated in the north of India), Ladakh(a fascinating place - very high, desert-like, wonderful view all the way up, amazing culture, lovely people /situated in the north of India), Manali (the Indian Switzerland- green and mountainous region with wooden huts, cows and mix population- slant eyed and Indians /situated in the north of India), Parvati valley (a blossoming valley full of weed...as well as few hot springs/situated in the north of India), Jaisalmer (an enchanting little town in the middle of the Rajasthani desert/west of India), Hariduar (a very holy Hindi town, the place to watch lots of traditional ceremonies/center of India),Madurai (a very holly Hindi town, yet completely different from Haridwar. It has a very beautiful Hindu temple you shouldn't miss and a Gandhi museum/south of India), Bhodgaya (full of Budhist monasteries, therefore one of the best places to make fascinating Buddhist retreats/east of India), Cochin (a lovely town- the site of the first European colonial settlement in India and the capital of Portuguese India until 1530/ south west shore of India), Goa (Tropical jungles and beautiful beaches- a Portuguese overseas territory for about 450 years, until 1961/south west shore of India), Gokharna (a lovely holy little Hindu town situated on the south west shore of India), Om beach (a tiny beautiful tropical beach located near by Gokharna), Amritapuri(a small village located on the south west shore of India, home of Amma's ashram- the hugging mother guru), Pondicherry (a French Colony situated on the south east shore of India and home to the famous Sri Aurobindo's ashram), Mumbai (the biggest city of India, its commercial and entertainment centre as well as well as home of the Indian film industry- Bollywood/located on the south west shore of India and has a fascinating mix of ancient and modern) and of course Amritsar (the famous golden temple/located in north west India). For some more information about Mumbai and Amritsar, including recommendations for best restaurants, shops, markets and attractions, I warmly advise you to go inside the travel guide of a web site called Easy Click Travel. I found it very helpful so many times:)
