Post Now, a film on Sanjay Gandhi's life

Thirty-one years after his death, Indira Gandhi's younger son Sanjay Gandhi is all set to get a silver screen tribute by Lahore director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The director admits he always wanted to portray his life on celluloid, reports Mumbai Mirror.

But the director wants to avoid showing the controversies surrounding his death on screen.
He tells the tabloid, "Sanjay Gandhi was a very controversial figure. I always wanted to portray his life on the big screen, but I am going to show the kind of person he was rather than venturing into the controversies surrounding his death.”

"I have always been impressed by his ideologies and his vision about our country. It is just now that I have started working on the film, as my science fiction film is ready to go on the floors," says Chauhan.

The filmmaker wants his movie to be a well-researched project and is leaving no stone unturned for making it credible. He shares with the tabloid, “Ever since I started making Lahore, I have been looking out for some writers who are well aware of Indian politics and the nitty-gritty of it. I have found them now and they are currently doing research on that. I want to be careful about the facts and the politics around his life. I don’t want to leave any room for anyone to raise any objection.”

The casting of the film remains to be decided.
