Rahman honoured again for ‘Jai Ho’
Our gem and the double Oscar winner, AR Rahman has won the ‘Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film’ award for the song ‘Jai Ho’, at the prestigious 9th World Soundtrack Awards held this Saturday. While the whole Nation was celebrating the festival of lights our Mozart of Madras received another feather to his cap!
French composer Alexandre Desplat bagged the ‘Best Musical Score’ for his work in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' directed by David Fincher and also won the 'The Film Composer of the year' award. Marvin Hamlisch was honoured with the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award.
The World Soundtrack Awards are held annually at the end of the Ghent Film Festival, which honours Belgian and international films, with its centre of attention on film music.
