Aamir Khan in Delhi Belly sequel

Aamir Khan is all set to star in Delhi Belly sequel in his item boy avatar alongside Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor. The film, titled Disco Fighter, will be directed by wife Kiran Rao.

Aamir's disco fighter character from the song I Hate You Like I Love You which featured in the end will be spun into a full-fledged flick starring him in the lead. "The film will take off from Aamir entering the film as Disco Fighter and the three boys will have an encounter with him. The details of the script are being worked out still," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Aamir was earlier apprehensive about the sequel. "The film will be titled Disco Fighter and Kiran Rao is currently writing it. When Delhi Belly was in the post-production phase, Aamir came up with the idea of making a sequel to the film. However, he was not sure of the box office response Delhi Belly would generate. After all, it was quite a different genre," the source informed the tabloid.

However, after the success of Delhi Belly, the actor has no qualms about its second part. "Now that the film has released, the verdict is out. In metros, the film has been a huge hit and the youth has given it a cult status. Aamir was always of the opinion that if the film works well, a sequel should definitely be made. However, since he is busy with Dhoom 3 right now, he has asked Kiran Rao to take over the project. But the whole idea of how to take the film forward came from Aamir," added the source.
