If you are into web programing, then

If(OS == Linux) {
Use PHP;
} elseif (OS == Windows) {
Use ASP.NET;
}

I prefer Linux for hosting web sites as its more stable and easy to work with.

I have read some books about perl and php,
php seems easier to use.
And between asp and php, php seems better because it's cross platform.

I'm a windows programmer, and I haven't ventrued into asp, but I have been warded off from perl due to complictaions in setting it up. PHP has worked miracles for me, thanks to bizhat's compatibility with it. I reccommend php by far. After you learn it, it will be a sinch to aquire adequate knowledge in C++ to make some handy programs as well.

Hi friends. it fosiul alam. abt your answer. which one is simple ASP,PHP or PERl.
all three programming languages are for web based related.and all r strong and higly related to web design. But if you have any other programming language like visual basic or C++ then it would be very easy for u. because, ASP is related to visual basic. and PHP is related to C++. but i think ASP is more easy. then other 2 language. if you ask me which one is best for Job , then ofcourse i will tell u. PHP is best right now. but to be a good web programmer , u should of learn ASP and PHP both.

Yeah i am Pro Microsoftian programmer actually i making Components (COM/ATL) for other programmer.

i like PHP because it somewhat like c and you don't have to pay any royalty fees to use it as in case ASP or ASP.net.

I'm a professional ASP and PHP web programer.
I guess it is better to start learning PHP as far as many products written in PHP are free for use and many technical information is also for free.
And if you would learn any of theese two, then it will be very easy to understand other scripting languages.

i think php is safety then asp .. and perl better safe but it is not useful like php.. i think php is best one.. :D
