Woolen Garments care

There is no other equivalent of woolen garments when winter approaches. Sweater and jackets made of other materials like jeans, leather etc are also good enough, but the warmth of woolen materials is really something cherishable. However, taking care of woolen garments is not very easy. It should be maintained properly for keeping the woolen fabrics fresh and fine for a long time. Here are some tips for maintaining the woolen fabric. Check these out.
Every time you wear the woolen garments, you should brush away the dust and dirt from it. Brushing is very important so that the woolen material don’t store the dust in its surface. Thus your garment will be clean and more manageable next time you wear it.
Avoid harsh washing. Frequent washes can damage the woolen materials. Otherwise fibers will come out in the surface making it look old. Handle with care while washing the woolen garments and don’t put in the washing machine. Don’t rinse with pressure. Gently rub the dirty clothes and hang in the air to dry it. Never use hot water while washing the woolen materials.
Never iron your woolen garments. Too much of heat is very harmful for the woolen fabrics. However, if you think the garment needs to be pressed, wet the woolen fabric first and then iron it. Don’t iron it when dry. You can also keep it under some heavy box or something like that to get it in shape.
During summer months, when the woolen fabric are not in use, keep them in air tight bags so that it doesn’t get attacked by bugs. Also put thin papers or tissue papers in all the folds you make. It will prevent the garment from wrinkles. Thus your woolen fabric will be just as new as you bought them.
