Karan Johar has announced Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ for January next year. What raises eyebrows is the fact that even Imran Khan’s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ is planned for the same month and hence a clash is imminent.
“Last few months have been very eventful for both since Imran has enjoyed five successes in a row (Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Delhi Belly, Break Ke Baad and I Hate Luv Storys). On the other hand Ranbir sits tops as far as critical acclaim is concerned, case in point with ‘Rockstar’. Moreover he has shown good range with a dramatic film like ‘Raajneeti’ and both films have done very good business as well”, says a trade expert, “Their forthcoming films are anyways being keenly awaited and hence an encounter like this can’t really be attributed to chance.”
At their end though both Ranbir and Imran have laughed away all talks of any personal rivalry though none have hidden the fact they want to be in the top bracket of those superstars who are widely considered as the future of Bollywood. With future looking bright for both youngsters, the battle in this ‘youngistan’ is only set to get brighter and much more fun.
