The Indian cricket board issued summon notices to IPL cricketers -- whose names have been linked to spot-fixing -- to attend the BCCI disciplinary hearing on September 13 in New Delhi.
According to top sources in the BCCI, the disciplinary committee - consisting of BCCI vice-presidents Arun Jaitley and Niranjan Shah - would be meeting these cricketers to know their side of the story.
Sources said S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chauvan, Harmeet Singh and Siddarth Trivedi are some of the cricketers who would be appearing before the disciplinary committee.
"The board would be giving them a patient hearing, but BCCI has zero tolerance against corruption. And those who have got disrepute to the game, BCCI will surely take stringent actions against them," a top BCCI official told TOI on Wednesday.
The disciplinary committee members after hearing these cricketers would recommend their verdicts to the BCCI working committee for further ratification. Earlier, Ravi Sawani, the head of BCCI's anti-corruption and security unit, had questioned these cricketers before preparing a comprehensive report on these cricketers. With Ajit Chandila still in jail for his alleged role in spot-fixing, Sreesanth and Chauvan have been out on bail.
