Kerala Houseboat Tip




House boats are available in all kinds of sizes and shapes with varying interiors. Generally each houseboat has a suite with an attached bathroom, one living room,
kitchenette, an open lounge, deck and a three member crew comprising a captain, a cook and steward. You have air conodtioned and non a/c boats. Air conidtioning is generally
powered by generators.

You check in by noon and you are taken on a 6 hour cruise through the wonderful labyrinth of canals along the Vembanad lake criss crossing through
the villages which gives you an idea of the life by the backwaters. You get to see houses, churches, temples, paddy cultivation, fishing, etc…
In between you are served lunch and snacks. You have the options of either enjoying the silence of nature or watching a movie followed by dinner before you retire for the night.


Meals on Board

Welcome drink - Tender coconut or fresh juice
Traditional Kerala Lunch with Rice, Fish Fry, Aviyal (mixed semi dry), Sambar, Thoran, Mezukupurati, Pappad, Pickles, Curd and Green Salad or similar
Evening snack like Banana Fry/Finger Chips/Veg Pakwada with tea
Traditional Kerala dinner with Rice and chappati chicken curry, Veg : Dal Fry, Rasam, Alu Geera/Alu Gopi, Mixed Veg Curry, Two other veg dishes or similar
Traditional Kerala breakfast like Idily / Dosa or Iddiyappam or Appam or Poori or Puttu or continental breakfast with tea/coffee


Note:

Kindly advice your food preference/ special needs at the time of booking.
Water pressure is moderate in the houseboats, especially in the overhead showers.
Hot water if not available in the bathrooms will be brought to you on request.
Rates are on full board i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner is included
Cost based on minimum 1 person and maximum 2 persons traveling together
Government service tax will be extra , currently 3.09%.
