The 2014 Mysore Dasara is celebrated from 25 Sept to 4 Oct. Mysore Dasara has a rich history of more than 400 years. It is the State festival of Karnataka. The 10 day festival is during the Navaratri season. There will be daily program in the evening. The Dasara procession will takes place at noon on 4th October and is the major event attraction. It is led by caparisoned elephants carrying an idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari, seated in a golden Howdah (elephant seat).
