ur site too simple, but u must care about the resolution for the page u make's. for the suggestion the resolution actually from 800*600 or 1024*768, because it make horizontal scroll, that makes the user interface not very nice. about the background color u can use code html like <body bgcolor="black"> or use 6 digit of hexadecimal number, to make the background color permanently , then can't change to the other color, if u wanna make ur site have background than can't be random the color and random the font color.
