Bhanupriya, known for her fabulous looks is back in Malayalam with a “nice role, where I play the mother of two daughters” in Kamal’s ‘Manju Poloru Penkutti’. She is known as a good dancer and an actress who can be at ease in both matured and glamorous roles. “I am comfortable with that image. Though I have played glamorous roles, those were not at all vulgar and indeed were appreciated by the audience,” she says.
She believes that it is dance that her keep in the good shape that she is in. “But now I don’t get much time to practice dance as I am always with my daughter Abhinaya, who is just eighteen months old. Besides, my husband now stays in the U.S and we do travel a lot.”
During leisure time, she likes to listen to music and watch films in TV. She saw the Meghna Gulzar directed ‘Filhaal’ recently and “liked it a lot.” In Malayalam, ‘Bharatham’ is my favourite.
Her husband Adarsh Kaushal is an award-winning photographer who does offline editing for some top TV channels. “He plays Sitar very well,” smiles Bhanupriya. She plans to continue with her dance practice soon. “And I want to direct films. That’s a dream,” she reveals. She has acted in commercial and arty type of films. What will be her film like? “Simple. It will be a sensible film, which can be related by everyone,” states Bhanu with that oh… so famous smile.
